Women's Tour with Raven
2024: Sept 28-October 7th
A 10 Night Tour for Women only
Come with me on a beautiful, rich and relaxed experience of Scotland through history, connection, music and nature. This tour will be a combination of some must-see sites as well as out of the way treasures. The final itinerary will be sent a month before travel, but here's a first draft of our travels….
3 nights in Edinburgh
We begin our journey with three nights in Edinburgh, a gorgeous gothic city with a plethora of things to explore. Deep women’s history runs through the hidden Closes and Wynds and the mysterious underground streets, as well as the picturesque gardens and lovely vistas. We’ll sink into the stories of witches and heroines and trail-blazers, while enjoying the scenery, music, food and drink to satisfy all the senses.
Next, our journey takes us to Stirling, for lunch and a visit to Stirling Castle. This small city is a pleasant mix of pedestrian streets, walkways, boutiques, and pubs and restaurants. It’s a lovely and rich break on our continued path to Glencoe.
2 nights in Glencoe
We will spend the next two nights in lovely Glencoe, a less touristy but stunning valley known for waterfalls and trails that climb peaks such as Buachaille Etive Mor and Bidean nam Bian. We will visit some out of the way places and soak up Nature’s medicine in this wild paradise.
3 nights in Plockton
Next stop is idyllic Plockton for three nights. The village is set around the curve of a bay with the old original cottages facing the sea. At high tide the sea comes right up to the sea wall and you can sit on benches, under the palm trees (yes, Palm trees in Scotland!), sipping your coffee or beer and soaking up the tranquility of this timeless village. Across the bay you look onto wooded crags and Duncraig Castle the light at sunrise can set them aglow.
We may even get a glimpse of the Northern Lights looking toward Skye.
And, speaking of Skye, we will take a day trip to visit the Fairy Pools and other natural wonders of this island.
1 night in Appin
Leaving Plockton, we will overnight near Appin, a peaceful and secluded peninsula bounded to the west by Loch Linnhe, to the south by Loch Creran, and to the north by Loch Leven. This will give us a chance to rest and work in a surprise hike that you won’t soon forget.
Final night back in Edinburgh
Our last evening will be back in Edinburgh for a farewell dinner and toast to friendships made and strengthened.
Note: This is a moderately active tour. There will be some hikes with stairs, ledges or steep slopes.
